Affiliate Marketing is a great way for stay-at-home moms to earn a living.
What is something you rave about to your family or friends? is it makeup, nail products, clothes, or cleaning supplies? What if you could get paid every time someone buys that thing you always tell them to try?
That’s what affiliate marketing is.
The basic concept of affiliate marketing is that, you recommend products or services to a group of people who could benefit from them. These people could be family, friends, followers, or readers online.
In exchange for your recommendations, the company pays you a commission when someone buys, signs up, or uses their services.
Affiliate marketing is a great work-from-home job for stay-at-home moms. You can do it at any time or day while still caring for your kids.
If you already have a following on social media, leverage that network and start doing affiliate marketing today.
My favorite affiliate networks are ShareAsale and Awin. They have a high acceptance rate for beginner affiliate marketers. Those are the ones I use. You can Join ShareASale here
In-home Dog/cat groomer
One of the moms I interviewed for this article mentioned that she started her own business as a dog and cat groomer.
She does it out of her garage. Her first clients were family members and friends. Through their word of mouth and recommendations, she was able to gain more clients.
She now earns about $2000 a month doing this job.
Content Creator
Content creators are the new wave of work-from-home moms. There’s no better time than now to start a YouTube channel, Ticktock, or Instagram account.
I know how intimidating it is to show your face on camera but there are a ton of other ways to make videos without showing your face.
All you need is a little research. Content creators make good money once they are monetized.
Start a Baby Gear Cleaning Service
The other day, a friend told me that she paid about $300 to get her Upperbaby stroller and accessories cleaned.
I thought she was nuts.
As I thought about it, I realized that I’d never been able to clean my strollers, high chairs, and car seats since I bought them. That’s because of how tedious a job it is.
I would gladly pay that amount to get my baby gear cleaned.
If you can’t start your own service, then you can always sign up for BabyQuip Cleaning Service.
They offer a baby gear cleaning service. They will help you create and manage your own website, and send clients your way.
Rent Out Your Baby Gear
As a mom, you know how difficult it is to pack up for a baby when traveling. You have to worry about a crib, pack-n-play, strollers, and so on.
By the time you pack all the baby gear, there’ll be no more room for your things.
That’s where BabyQuip comes in.
As a BabyQuip contractor, you rent your baby gear to parents traveling to your city. You set the price and can even add delivery fees as well.
There is a $200 cost to sign up for this service, but if you’re serious, you can make back that money in the first month.
I’m actually planning on signing up to become a BabyQuip contractor when my youngest no longer needs all his baby gear. Why not get my money back for them?
Start an In-home daycare
Since you’re already taking care of your kids at home, why not add one or two other kids to the mix as well?
You can watch other people’s kids for a great price. In New York where I live, people charge about 25-40 an hour to babysit depending on the number of kids. The lowest I’ve been charged by a babysitter for my two kids is $25 dollars per hour
Bernadette whom I interviewed for this article says “I stay home and watch other people’s kids. It’s great money and I get to be with my baby all day. I watch 3 kids plus my own and I make $3000 a month doing it”
“An in-home daycare is a perfect work-from-home job for a SAHM. Here’s what another mom Emily says about running an in-home daycare.
Start an in-home Laundry business
Many busy people need help doing their laundry. Some are more comfortable paying others to do it for them.
So why not start your own laundry business? You can help other people do their laundry, and charge for pick up and drop off too!
One mom I spoke to said she started her own laundry business and has never looked back.
Here’s what she said
“I pick up and drop off laundry within 48 hours. I started last month and I’m very pleased with the amount of clients I have!”. You can set your own schedule and customize your service however you want. It’s a great WFH job for a stay at home mom”.

Sell printables on Etsy or Teacher Pay Teachers (TpT)
If you’re skilled in designing planners, kids’ worksheets, and other educational materials, then open an online store.
A lot of people make good money doing this on Etsy or Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT).
I have an Etsy store myself.
To open a business on Etsy, figure out what you’ve bought in the past from Etsy and make a better version of it. If you’ve bought that product before then there’s probably a good market for it.
Head over to Canva and learn how to use it to make printables. I learned by watching a bunch of YouTube videos. It’s possible to sell printables as a work-from-home job.
Start a Cleaning Business
Another great WAH job for stay-at-home moms is a cleaning business.
This requires you to take your kids with you to the house you’re cleaning.
So it’s not exactly work from home.
I spoke to some women who clean homes and offices on the weekends when their spouses are off from work. This way, there’s always someone watching the kids.
I know three people who pay someone to clean their homes every week because they’re just too busy to do it themselves. The person getting paid could be you if you market your services well.
Go on Facebook groups of people in your area and tell them about your new business. Offer your services for a discounted price until you’ve gathered enough clients. Then you can raise your prices.
If you own your own cleaning business, you get to set the price and the schedule.
Insurance Verification Specialists
If you have any prior experience working in a medical office then you may be qualified to become an insurance verification specialist.
These are people who verify patients’ insurance coverage of a medical procedure. They also verify insurance coverage before a patient is allowed to see a specialist.
I once had an HMO insurance plan that needed me to get prior authorization documents before I could see any specialist.
You would be the person giving me this document if you got this job.
It doesn’t require any college degree. However, most companies require you to have at least a year of experience doing intake work or collecting patient insurance information.
That’s the kind of experience one would get from working at a doctor’s office. Most of the jobs are done from home so it would be a perfect remote job for stay-at-home moms.
Graphic Designer/Logo Designer
If you have experience creating graphics, designing logos, and branding then you should do that online as a SAHM.
You can offer your services to small businesses that need to establish a brand presence.
A great place to start is Fiverr. Create a profile on the platform to advertise your services.
They already have a built-in customer base for graphic designers. So finding clients should be easy.
Start A Print-on-Deman Business
Instead of working for someone, why not start your own business? Print-on-demand is a great business that any stay-at-home mom can do.
The way print-on-demand works is that you create a unique design that can be placed on shirts, hats, mugs, sweatpants, tumblers, etc, and sell your designs through a company that does all the legwork for you.
When you get an order for a product, the print-on-demand companies such as Printify will make your shirts, mugs, and other products using your designs.
They will package and ship the product to your customers on your behalf, and help you accept payments. In return, you pay them a small percentage of your profit.
Printify is great in that it has a mockup generator to help you visualize how your designs will look in the shirts, caps, and other products you sell. They give you a lot of support to get your print-on-demand business off the ground.
It’s easy to create designs using a free website like Canva. You can sign up for Printify here.
Sell Life Insurance
Selling life insurance could be a great WFH opportunity for stay-at-home moms.
You can do it remotely and some companies even let you set your own schedule.
The best part is that they provide you with the leads. If you have sales experience already, this could be a good way to use it.
I spoke to Stacey, a SAHM who sells life insurance.
Here’s what she said:
Get Into IT Support
When most women think about working from home, they don’t usually consider a career in IT.
Getting into this field is very lucrative and it’s a perfect WAH job opportunity for stay-at-home moms.
A lot of colleges offer boot camps that allow you to learn IT fundamentals in about 6 months. This will then allow you to apply for entry-level positions in IT.
The good thing about IT is that you can choose to work phone or chat support. You can also work nights so that your kids don’t interrupt your shift.
Become a blogger
That’s right! Blogging is an amazing way to make money online.
I am a blogger and I love it.
As a blogger, you get to help a specific group of people solve a problem. In return, you can get paid in so many different ways.
Here are the various ways that bloggers make money. Affiliate marketing, putting ads on their blog, selling their own products, or coaching services.
As a stay-at-home mom blogger, I get to help other moms like me find ways to make money and save money so they can continue to stay home with their kids.
That’s pretty cool!
Sell your own product
If you make something that everyone keeps telling you to sell, then maybe now is the time.
If you don’t have any such skill, there’s always time to learn.
You can learn to sew, crochet, make soaps, perfumes, candles, wooden toys, etc from Skillshare. The list goes on.
Platforms like Etsy, eBay, and even your own website are great places to sell your own products.
Now that I’ve provided you with a long list of work-from-home jobs you can do as a stay-at-home mom, let’s figure out how to get these jobs.
How can I get a work-from-home job easily?
Use the skills you already have
To get a work-from-home job easily, you have to leverage your skills.
SAHMS has so many useful skills that they can bring to a career. These are called transferable skills.
Read this article to learn all about the transferable skills you already have as a SAHM.
Learn a new skill that aligns with your ideal job
If you have a particular job in mind that you aren’t qualified for, then take some time to gain more experience.
This could mean going back to school to earn a degree or certification. It could also mean volunteering or working in a related field to gain some experience.
In some cases, you could teach yourself the skill through YouTube videos and online courses.
Use your degree or training
Most people think they have to switch careers in order to get a work-from-home job.
That’s not true.
The best way to get a WFH job is to transition to a remote position in the same field you’re currently in.
So if you were a teacher before, you could teach online or tutor online.
If you were in sales in an office, you can transition into an online sales position or customer service.
It’s easier to use the degree you already have than to start from scratch.
